What you say on your website and in print matters. It shouldn’t be an afterthought. I can help you put it all together by getting to the essence of what you do, what you offer, and why people should care.

So, my advice is to use Damien. He writes good. Real good! He did so for me and the results were wonderful. Plus he cares. He helps you get the brief right, and his follow-up is outstanding. Put Damien on your virtual marketing team now.
I hired Damien to write the content for a new online gaming portal requiring a certain style of writing and visual presentation. Damien quickly grasped what we were looking for - writing tight copy with minimal revision required, always hitting the deadlines we agreed upon. I'd be happy to recommend Damien for a freelance writing project in any vertical.
Damien did a great job in sprucing up our website. The new copy is really contributing to getting the site's conversion rates up.
I have used Damien on a number of occasion to assist with copy writing for marketing programs for my clients. Damien has worked to short deadlines and produced great work that my clients have been very satisfied with.
I had the pleasure of working with Damien on a number of web marketing projects at the Barefoot Investor. Damien brought a fresh perspective and professional approach to our team, and he was an absolute pleasure to work with.
Damien has completed a number of projects for Creative Approach. He is quick to understand the subject and has a great skill for developing engaging copy. I've always found his work to be excellent quality, creative and delivered on-time.
I worked with Damien in 2013. His copywriting skills are amazing! He did perfect work for the landing pages I had. Highly recommended to everyone who needs copywriter or communications consultant.
It is my pleasure to recommend Damien to you. I have hired him on multiple occasions to write persuasive copy for me. He always delivers first class material. He has, on multiple occasions, went beyond the scope of the project, offering helpful advice and tips to improve my business. Hire him. You won't be sorry.
I have used Damiens' copy writing skills for a range of projects and have always been very pleased with the end result. Damien takes the time to familiarise himself with your service and brand so he can tailor the copy accordingly.
We hired Damien multiple times as a copywriter/editor for various marketing material such as the company website, brochures and more. Damien listens to our company needs, understands what we are trying to say (even when we aren't completely sure how to explain it), and produces high-quality work within a short time-frame. Damien is a pleasure to work with, knows his stuff and never disappoints.
Damien is a strong copywriter and a creative thinker who can boil an idea down to its essence. Rarely have I found a copywriter as punctual and responsive as Damien. He gets the work done, he responds accurately to the brief and he makes it very easy along the way. And to top it off, he's a terrific guy. I'll continue to hire Damien with absolute certainty.
I love what you’ve done! … After reading your copy I actually wanted to buy it!
Damien was a pleasure to work with and structured our campaign perfectly. It has been a massive success… I’ve had to pause the campaign because we have TOO many leads!
Damien 100% “gets” the niche and the angle... The white paper is everything I was hoping for and more. In addition, he gave me other ideas in which I could use the white paper for marketing my business … This is a case of a writer OVERdelivering in every way. I highly recommend Damien and will be using his services again in the future.
Why hire a copywriter?
There are a few reasons you might want to hire a copywriter to work on your marketing content:
- Copywriters are trained in using language that achieves your desired result
- Poorly written content makes your brand look sloppy and unprofessional
- Often you’re too close to your own products or services to really see (and communicate) the benefits to an outsider – a copywriter can overcome this because they’ll approach it with fresh eyes, from the point of view of your customer.
Compare the relatively low cost of hiring a professional copywriter with the benefits of what the copy will do for your business over time. Even though you only need to go through the copywriting process once, the copy works for you long into the future, communicating benefits and increasing enquiries, leads, and sales for your business.
What sort of stuff do you write?
I write everything from website content (e.g. Home, About Us, Services, etc.) right through to blog content, sales letters, business proposals, case studies, brochures, video and radio scripts, and landing pages.
I also write content for businesses who need regular high quality content for their websites such as blog articles, and keyword optimised long form copy (SEO copywriting) so your target pages rank higher in search results.
Why not just write it myself?
You might be able to put a sentence together, but a copywriter is trained in communicating ideas in such a way that your reader will be compelled to take action.
I’ll do research on your target audience, find out what elements of your product or service will appeal to them the most, then write copy that will get them taking action.
Even copywriters hire other copywriters to write for them. Why? Because they realise that sometimes it’s hard to see the forest for the trees. When we’re so close to our own business, we often overlook the most basic points, like saying in plain language what it actually is that we do, and what the benefits are for your customer. A trained, fresh pair of eyes avoids this and ensures your communications will be crisp, clear, and to the point.
Why a freelance copywriter?
The great thing about hiring a freelancer is that you get a lot of “bang for your buck.” When you hire a marketing agency, you’re paying a premium for luxuries like project management and account managers. It ends up being a lot of time and energy used in meetings, double handling, and keeping things moving.
Also, with a freelancer you can upsize and downsize as necessary, never having to worry about holiday pay, sick leave, and lunch breaks.
How much does copywriting cost?
There’s an old saying about cost: “If you think a good copywriter is expensive, wait until you see what a bad one will cost you.”
This is a reference to investing in good quality content that serves your business. Cutting corners means not just potentially looking bad and damaging your reputation, but also the lost opportunities that good copy would have brought you.
Unless you’re an existing client, I generally don’t work on a projects for less than $1000.
My services are not the cheapest around but they also aren’t as expensive as the money you lose by having second-rate copy which fails to get results. You can get a quote on your project by contacting me with details about your project.
What sort of businesses do you write for?
I’ve written copy for many types of business, from startups, tech companies and entrepreneurs, right through to local small businesses and marketing agencies. No business is too small to benefit from the services of a professional copywriter.
Can I see samples of your writing?
Yes, when you contact me for a quote, I am happy to show you relevant examples of similar copywriting projects. I am mindful of my clients’ privacy so choose not to show their work in public on my website.
What’s the copywriting process?
Abraham Lincoln said “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I’ll spend the first four sharpening the axe.”
The same holds true with copywriting. Most time is spent planning, thinking, and researching the product or service, its unique features, the competition, and the target audience.
When we start working together I’ll ask you lots of questions. Then I’ll go do research, write down ideas and rough drafts, and more than likely get back to you with more questions throughout the process. Together we’ll develop and tweak the copy until it’s the best it can be.
If for any reason you’re not happy with the finished product, I’ll work with you to make revisions until you’re completely satisfied.
What do you need from me to do the work?
I need as much information as you can give. There’s no such thing as “too much information” when it comes to briefing a copywriter about your business needs.
I want to know everything that’s been written before, everything your customer and clients think and say about you and your business, and what makes you different.
If you have written research, I want to see it, even if it’s not directly about your products or services, or even about your business. If you have existing marketing materials, I need to see them.
Most importantly, I want to hear you talk about your business. That’s why phone calls or meetings are important in the copywriting process. During a conversation you’ll reveal a lot of information both directly and indirectly that will help me do my job.
I need a copywriter urgently, can you help straight away?
Probably not. It depends on my schedule and workload, but usually the wait time on starting a new project is about 2-3 weeks.
I can have a call with you via phone or Skype within a week to get all the information needed about the project. From there I need to go away and think about it while I make room in my schedule for your project. Then the actual research, writing, and revisions begin.
It’s unlikely I’ll be able to complete your project within 2 weeks of an initial enquiry unless we’ve worked together before and I’m familiar with your business.
My project is confidential; what guarantees do I have that you won’t steal my idea or work with my competitors?
I treat my clients’ information and privacy with the utmost respect, and I deal with sensitive business information on a regular basis. However, if you require a more formal assurance of privacy or if you have a project that you want to keep confidential, I am more than happy to sign a non-disclosure (confidentiality) agreement before starting work.
Who owns the copyright to the content you write?
Once the final project fee has been paid you are given copyright of all material I have provided and can do with it what you wish.
Will you ghost write content that I can publish under my own name?
Yes, I do this for a number of clients – mostly for blog articles – and will keep these types of project confidential.
Do you do editing and proof-reading?
Yes. I can review your existing content and make changes at the spelling and grammar level as well as making recommendations from a structural and strategy perspective.
